Whats the best board to use... Ali Comp, Foamex Or Correx
We often get asked which printed substrates are best suited for different uses. Sometimes people will go off what they have seen or used in the past, but it might not be best suited to for the job. We have briefly outlined below a few points to think about when looking at printed signage.
Printed Ali Composite Signs (Di-Bond) - Ali composite boards (often referred to by the brand Di-Bond, much like vacuum cleaner & Hoover) are a great long lasting, sturdy board for exterior use. They are the perfect solution for shop fronts, site boards and warning signs. If you are looking for a board they will stand the test of times these are the ones. If you are a builder that has site boards these are a great solution as they can be knocked around and still look great.
Printed Foamex Signs - These are a great interior option, they are light weight and look smart with white solid edges. They can be used for exterior use but not long term, with the different changes in weather they can become brittle and expand in the sunshine, so if they are drilled into a wall they will warp in the heat and contract in the cold. Perfect for interior promotions, information boards and exhibitions.
Printed Correx Signs - These are the perfect solutions for temporary signage. Light weight and cheap. They are commonly used as estate agents boards and temporary health and safety signage. Depending on the finish you are after you will normally see the flute pattern on the face of the board. They are great for events, health and safety signage and any short term promotions.
